Fiscal Commission
The Fiscal Commission is composed of three members, who each serve a three-year term. One of the positions is renewed each year, and members may be reelected, provided they meet the eligibility criteria established for the committee.
Powers and Responsibilities
- To oversee the accounting books and documentation supporting the records of the organization, audit its administration, and verify cash balances as well as the existence of funds, bonds, and securities, in accordance with applicable legislation and the Bylaws.
- To make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the performance of the duties described in the preceding paragraph.
- To rule on the annual report, inventory, general balance sheet, and expenses and income account submitted by the Board of Directors for the consideration of the Ordinary Member Assembly at the end of each fiscal year.
- To convene the Ordinary Member Assembly when the Board of Directors fails to do so (subject to a formal notice to the Board of Directors at least 15 days in advance).
- To request that an Extraordinary Member Assembly be convened whenever deemed necessary and the Board of Directors refuses to do so, stating the grounds for the request before the General Directorate of Registries, Civil Associations, and Foundations.
- To convene an Extraordinary Member Assembly, after first notifying the oversight body, when a request is submitted by the members to the Board of Directors in accordance with Article 14 of the Bylaws.
- To oversee the operations for the liquidation of LACNIC, ensuring that the performance of its duties does not disrupt the regular management of the organization.
- To investigate and decide, based on complaints filed by the interested parties, any alleged incompatibilities of the members of the Electoral Commission.
